Meet Our doctors

Founded in 1989, Hematology Oncology Consultants serves the southern region of the Inland Empire. We are comprised of three hematologist/oncologists -Stanley Schinke, M.D., Kishore Sehgal, M.D., and Evelyn Mendoza, M.D. Hematology Oncology Consultants are affiliated with Hemet Valley Medical Center; Menifee Valley Medical Center; Inland Valley Regional Hospital; Rancho Springs Medical Center; and Fallbrook Hospital.
 


Dr. Stanley Schinke, M.D.

Dr. Stanley Schinke has known since the tenth grade that he would be a hematologist/oncologist. Those who know him describe him as "the nicest genius on Earth." Dr. Schinke enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. Whether jumping on the trampoline with his daughter, or cheering for his son at baseball, he always makes time for his little ones. As an experienced cyclist, Dr. Schinke finds riding an enjoyable pastime.

Dr. Schinke obtained his doctorate of medicine from the University of California San Francisco Medical School. At Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where Dr. Schinke did his internal medicine residency, he received the Ben Newman Award. He then went on to do his fellowship specializing in medical oncology, hematology, and, bone marrow transplants at the City of Hope National Medical Center. Dr. Schinke went on to found Hematology Oncology Consultants.

Dr. Schinke is currently chairman of the Cancer Committee at Menifee Valley Medical Center. He has also worked on different research projects including, “Breast Cancer Study of the effects Leukocyte Adherence Inhibition,” and “The Staging of Radical Mastectomy.”


 
Dr. Kishore Sehgal, M.D. 

Dr. Sehgal obtained his medical doctorate at the Maulana Azad Medical College. His internal medicine internship and residency was completed at Grant Hospital in Chicago. Dr. Sehgal went on to complete his oncology/hematology fellowship at the University of Southern California. As internal medicine instructor, Dr. Sehgal taught medical students, residents, and interns for Grant Hospital, University of Southern California, and Rush-Presbyterian Medical School.

Dr. Sehgal is currently the chairman of the Cancer Committee at Hemet Valley Hospital and chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine at Menifee Valley Hospital. He also helped writing the protocols for "Pre-operative intra-arterial Cisplatin for extremity Sarcomas" and "Intraperitoneal FURD.


Dr. Evelyn Mendoza, M.D.

Dr. Evelyn Mendoza is a dedicated hematologist/oncologist. Those who know her say… Dr Mendoza loves spending time with her family-her husband and two children. If she had more time, she would love to knit and play tennis.

Dr. Mendoza obtained her medical doctorate at the Cebu Institute of Medicine where she earned the National State Scholar award and graduated cum Laude. She then served for a year at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center in the Philippines. At the State University of New York, Dr. Mendoza did her medical internship and residency, where she served as Chief Medical Resident. Moving on to the University of California, Los Angeles, she became a hematology/oncology fellow and earned the honor of Outstanding Clinical Researcher for her work with the Clinical Cancer Research Program. She has also worked as a research associate for the development of monoclonal antibodies and the varicella vaccine. Upon completion of her fellowship, Dr. Mendoza stayed at UCLA as Associate Director of the UCLA Cancer Center and Assistant Professor to the Department of Medicine at the UCLA Medical Center. Well-educated and well rounded, Dr. Mendoza went on to join Hematology Oncology Consultants.

Dr. Mendoza is a diplomat of the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Hematology, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. She also served on the Board of Directors for the American Cancer Society, Santa Clarita Valley Chapter from 1996 through 2000.

 
Our Nurses

We take pride in our exceptional oncology nursing staff. They make a difference to people every day. Nursing is a demanding, high-pressure job. They provide the highest quality of compassionate care and focus on the needs of our patients. In other words, they reflect our values.

Most of our chemotherapy nurses are Oncology Nurse Society (ONS) certified. Well trained and experienced, they are equipped with the skills to educate patients about their treatment and identify any areas of concern. In our lab, we have LVN's assisted by MA's-all are happy to assist in any way possible.

Our office staff will welcome you with a smile. Assisting in needs from scheduling appointments to obtaining authorization for treatment, they are always knowledgeable and professional.

We assist our patients in any way possible. With courtesy, we will go out of our way to make a visit to our office comfortable. All patients can be assured that their privacy and dignity will be upheld with the utmost care.
